Rhonda House

Rhonda was exposed to Southern Gospel Music at a very early age. Her parents often took her to the all-night sings in Charlotte and these concerts left an indelible mark on her.  She made a pact back then that someday she would be singing in a gospel group. Growing up, Rhonda would play & sing to albums by The LeFevre’s, The Downing’s, and The Talley’s in her room for hours on end.

At the young age of 8, Rhonda began singing with her mom and dad in the church her father pastored in Lowell, NC - Little Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. At the age of 17, she formed a ladies trio, A New Beginning, within the church and led praise and worship during the thirteen years her dad pastored there.

In 1988, Rhonda also helped form the group, Sounds of Praise. They released four albums during their 5-year tenure. In 1998, Rhonda was one of the original members of Heart 2 Heart. She was a part of the group for 2 years before returning to her home church to become involved in the choir, different trios, and quartets within the church.

In 2003, Rhonda joined a family group, Providence, based out of Shelby, NC and spent the next 6 years traveling with them. Then in January, 2011, Rhonda received a call to re-join Heart 2 Heart Ministries and has been traveling and ministering with them since. They are all excited to be in ministry together and know that all roads have led to this time & place! God’s timing is perfect!

Rhonda resides in Belmont, NC where she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Chelsea and son-in-law, Trip, who married back in 2014. The family has been blessed with two handsome little boys, Jordan and Jackson, who both know Rhonda’s (aka YaYa’s) voice when she comes into the room!

When she is not on the road with H2H, Rhonda loves new adventures and road trips with friends and family. She soaks up every moment because she knows first-hand how fragile and precious life can be. If you have followed her on Facebook for any length of time, you know this to be true! The losses she and her family experienced in 2017 with the unexpected passing of her husband and mother on the same day followed by open-heart surgery 8 months later, were enough to test anyone’s faith. Without hesitation today, she can affirm Psalm 28:7 which says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him”.
